Business Card Layout: Show Off in Style

Design Does Wonders

A business card with a brilliant layout design does wonders for your business on many different levels. For instance, it's easier for your business card to get noticed among a pile of business cards. But a good layout also entails convenience on the part of the client. Information about the company, or yourself, must be written on the card, and printed in such a way that is easy on the eyes.

With a card like that, you'll make a name for your business in no time at all.

Here are the different elements of a good business card:

  • Name of individual – This is the single most important part of a business card—of any business card. Your name. Who are you? What can you do for the person holding the card, looking at your name? A good business card should be able to address these questions right away.
  • Name of business – A company should have a name, doesn't it? Business cards from established companies such as Dell or HP also feature their company logos alongside the business name.
  • Address – A physical or mailing address is a must for all business cards.
  • Telephone number(s) – If it's a personal business card, a cellphone number ought to do it. Try to include as many contact numbers into the card as possible.
  • Email address – Your client might want to contact you via email. Enough said.

Just Plain Poor

A business card that's hard to read is pretty much useless. For whatever reason—be it the card itself is crumpled or torn or the layout and design isn't high quality or just plain poor, etc—a useless business card with your name on it speak tons about your incompetence. You wouldn't want people thinking that just as you're handing out your business cards, right?
